Getting started
- Make sure your computer and compatible Apple TV device are on the same local network.
- Open SofaPilot Remote from the TV icon in your menu bar.
- Choose Devices, select the compatible device, and enter the four-digit PIN shown on the television.
After the first pairing, SofaPilot Remote stores the pairing keys in your Keychain and reconnects automatically.
Common questions
I don't see my compatible device
Confirm that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi or Ethernet network. If macOS asks for Local Network access, allow it. Then reopen the device picker.
Where is the app?
SofaPilot Remote is a menu-bar utility, so it does not appear in the Dock. Look for the TV icon in the menu bar and the small floating remote at the edge of your screen.
How do I change the floating remote?
Open Settings from the menu-bar remote or by right-clicking the floating remote. You can change its mode, position, opacity, keyboard shortcuts, and launch-at-login setting.
How do I pair again?
Open Devices and select the compatible device again. SofaPilot Remote will request a new PIN whenever a fresh pairing is required.
